Today was a rainy Fall day and it appears the fashion trend this Fall is polka dot or striped rubber rain boots, larger versions of the kind you might have worn as a child. I am not in the market for these kinds of boots. I don’t think I could rock them.
The Athelta catalog came last night, and I did spend some time looking at a pair of boots in the catalog. And then I went online to Zappos.com and looked at more boots (did you know Zappos is hiring? I confess, I clicked on the “We’re Hiring” banner…you never know!). But I did not buy anything, and today, walking around in the rain in the boots I already own, my feet got cold and wet….
Tonight’s workout was terrific. I did my 30 minutes on the elliptical, listening to “Born to Run.” Were there ever greater lyrics written in the late 20th Century rock-n-roll genre than: “Baby, this town rips the bones from your back.” I mean, talk about visceral.
I did my crunches and leg lifts and weights. And then I walked home in the cool evening (it finally stopped raining), listening to “2,000 Miles” by the Pretenders. “Our hearts were singing….It felt like Christmastime.”
